Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation, Merschbrock-Wiese Spice GmbH receives honorary plaques for 2011 award winners from previous years.
As recently as 100 years ago exotic products like pepper and nutmeg were hard-fought and were causes for wars. Whoever needs spices nowadays can easily order at Merschbrock- Wiese Gewürz GmbH. Founded in 1987, is the No. 2 producer of household spices in Germany. Since the award "winners" in 2005, sales and number of employees despite the economic crisis were again increased by 50 percent.
Had a good feeling for spices.
Depression? Bad mood? – That’s nothing to Maria Merschbrock and her husband Rainer Wiese.
These two persons have extended their medium-sized enterprise with an investment volume on the order of ten million euro at the business park B64. Since company foundation in 1987 the Spice GmbH has raised to one of the major companies in Germany as a specialized enterprise in herbs and spices. Annual sales increases in double figures certificate the successful conception and the goodwill of the customers with respect to the multifarious products from the think tank. To conceive spices from all over the world to mixed spices according to their own recipe was an aim from the founding period and is already achieved. And products from the house of Merschbrock- Wiese are already on everyone’s lips. Now the extension building was officially inaugurate with a showing of the newest facilities and a big celebration for employees, business partners and customers.

In 2011 331 outstanding, medium-sized companies and personalities from the region North Rhine- Westphalia were empowered to participate to the competition “Grand Prize of Medium-Size Business”.
Mostly unnoticed by public the enterprising middle-class has generated millions of new sustainable jobs for the industry, trade, attendance and handcraft. Therefore in 2011 the “Grand Prize of Medium-Size Business” was advertised for the 17th time. Throughout Germany a total of 3,522 medium-sized companies of all sizes, industries and forms of property were nominated for the award of the “Grand Prize of Medium-Size Business” by communes, institutions and personalities.
